Moms
The moms who lost their identity the day they became a mom. The moms who started all this [finding themselves] because they woke up one day and realized they were a shell of the person they used to be.
The moms who, for years, have thrown themselves into caring for the kids and managing the household, many times while working a "regular" job too.
The moms who have been over-touched and over-stimulated and over-loaded constantly, so much so that at the end of the day when our partners tried to reach out, we recoiled and we did that over and over until our partners just quit reaching out.
The moms who have become angry and resentful, because our partner has literally watched us disappear. We don't know what they could have done to stop this or how, but at the very least, they seemed complicit in all this.
The moms who have realized that they need more, want more, deserve more. To be seen, to be heard, to be desired, or at least to have a connection that doesn't connect us to being just a mom.
